Cleveland Family Fun Directory (aka ClevelandFFD) was started in May 2008 by Rick and Christy Pavia of Solon, OH. As the parents of two young boys, we were always looking for something fun, interesting or educational to do with the kids. There were many sources of information such as brochures, web sites, catalogs, direct mail, emails, etc. However, much of it was either only for paid advertisers, it was outdated or it was just for a certain part of town. We thought it would be a great idea to start a business that provided a one stop source for all things Family Fun in Greater Cleveland.
So we began publishing a printed version of Family Fun Directory and distributing it around the Solon area. It was an immediate hit with parents and advertisers. We gradually built the circulation, distribution and improved the format. We also added a web site and then a weekly e-newsletter. Today, we have multiple print versions that are targeted to a specific geographical area (4 different versions in Cuyahoga County), and we are going to keep growing in this manner. We also decided that the web site needed to play an important role in the mission t be become the most comprehensive resource for Family Fun in Greater Cleveland. The result is what you see on this web site along with the mobile app.
Everyone has a different idea of family fun. It could be as simple as a free craft project at a local store to something more exotic like a beach getaway. But in between those types of events are many more fun, interesting and educational things to do right here in and around Cleveland. Explore the site, have fun and give us your feedback.
